Audio Archive: How God Converts The Human Soul
More error in the church today centers around this one question than anything else I can think of: "How does God convert the human soul?". It's not a heady theological question that strays beyond the boundaries of God's hidden knowledge, rather it's something that the bible tells us a lot about, and our thinking on this topic has tremendous impact on our evangelism. Think about it; if salvation is entirely a matter of our evangelistic efforts, then we are not that far off from being something like used car salesmen. On the other hand, if salvation is something that God does, then the parable of the sower has more to tell us about the God-prepared soils than the skill of the seed-planters. In this post we'll take a look at a free set of audio downloads that will bring this matter into better focus.
This topic is fresh on my mind right now since I am reading through the book Redemption: Accomplished and Applied with my teenage daughter. John Murray's excellent book is my church's book of the month for November, and we are learning a lot from it. I have to admit however that the book, though not that large, is a bit challenging, especially for my daughter. I will help her to extract as much out of it as possible though, because it's such an excellent outline on the who, what, when, where, and why of salvation. If you are not up to the challenge of a book like that yet, I can recommend to you a recent set of sermons entitled "How Does God Convert The Human Soul" by Mark Kielar. Mark is the new preaching pastor at First Baptist Church of Boynton Beach in Florida. While not a long-time preaching pastor, Mark has been teaching this biblical topic for years as the owner of CrossTV.com. Years ago his video series on this topic made a lasting impact on me, and my theology changed tremendously because of his teaching. The GodTube clip on Decisional Regeneration, found on the cover page of Old Truth, is a short excerpt from this video series. The videos (DVD or VHS) are great, and I highly recommend them, as well as these audio sermons. Listen-in on the short 5 minute audio excerpt below - from Mark Kielar's sermon series, then stop by the church's sermon page and download all of the sermons in this series (which is still underway at the time I'm writing this).
