it comes from Him who is the ancient of days. --Thomas Watson

About Chad VanRens

My name is Chad VanRens. I'll be helping Jim moderate comments on Old Truth and I'll be writing articles for Old Truth from time to time.

Theologically I'm a convinced Reformed Baptist and I hold to the 1689 London Baptist Confession.

I spent many years as a false believer, I had a head knowledge of Christ but I was yet a stranger to Him. The Lord graciously showed me my sin and my need of the Savior and I believed on the Lord Jesus Christ and was saved. When I was first saved I was taught Dispensationalism and became a member of an Independent Fundamentalist Baptist church. As I grew in my understanding of scripture I became a convinced Calvinist and upon learning of Reformed Theology I knew that I no longer agreed with Dispensationalism and I sought out a good Reformed church.

I live in Waukesha Wisconsin and I repair guitars for a living. During the weekdays you'll find me at my workbench mending broken guitars. Now, here's a bit of free advice for all of you guitar players out there. Never, ever stand your guitar case up on it's end while your guitar is inside it. You are just begging for a broken peghead if it should fall over and if you have small children or a dog, it will. They just can't seem to resist tipping over guitar cases and when you open it up you'll have a nasty surprise waiting for you. If this should happen come and see me, I'll be more than happy to repair it.

Naturally I'm interested in music and if I'm not studying the bible or theology then you'll probably find me playing my guitar. People always ask me what kind of guitar I have so if you want to know go here and you can see for yourself. If you're in the market for a new guitar, you should check these out.
