1 December, 2005   comments: (0) Purpose Drivenism   Another 40 Days of Destruction and Division Here's another sad email from someone with a testimony similar to my own. The last line of the email sums it up: "Our church has been destroyed by the Purpose Driven Life program, and the pastor just doesn't care!". Dear OldTruth.com: I am so glad I found your web-site. Our church just completed the 40 days business, and is now onto the celebration level. I knew before it started that it was a "seige of our church"... and that all dissenters would be gone within the 40 days of Purpose Program. It's over, they're gone! The people who started the church, who financed it, who had a great outreach in the community, and doing the Lord's work as an "organism" are now an organization. I met with the Pastor before it began, and told him what I "KNEW" was happening, and he tried to put me at ease. It DIDN'T! Now over half of our congregation is gone, the ones who WERE the church. Our pastor has taken our church (building) and has quite a program... The elders have set him up with $70,000 per year. He only has to preach 9 months out of 12. No funerals, no visitation, no weddings, and only has to be in his office 2 days a week, if he so wishes. He never uses the [older bibles], and supports the versions used by Rick Warren. I met with him personally, for over 3 hours. I met with one of the elders, for a whole evening. What a circular bunch of reasoning I got from them. We went to this church since 1991, got two of our kids to attend, along with 4 grandchildren. We are now attending other churches. Our church has been destroyed by the Purpose Driven Life program... and the pastor just doesn't care! Received 11/26/05 and posted with permission of the victim.
